Pinterest for the Win!

We are finally in our new house – but not unpacked. I have a HUGE Pinterest board with all the organization things I have been drooling over for the last year that weren’t doable in our old house.

It is no secret that I LOVE The Dollar Tree. Seriously, love. And I hate when I find something on Pinterest that says “organize your whole house at the Dollar Tree!” and then you click on it and it’s The Dollar Tree in Canada or The Dollar Tree from 5 years ago so they don’t carry any of the products anymore. Drives me nuts.

So here is a real Dollar Tree post. I organized my kids’ bath toys. It was pretty easy and cheap.

Just for funnies, here is my before…

Literally, that’s how we stored our toys. Just tossed into the tub and then in a basket above the toilet (that didn’t fit on the toilet – and it’s a Dollar Tree bin. I should go through all of my storage items and count how many Dollar Tree bins I have).

So we bought a shower curtain rod (which Dollar Tree does not sell. If they do, mine doesn’t!), 2 storage baskets (make sure they have holes so the water can drain out and you can clip on the shower curtain hooks) and a package of shower curtain hooks. Dollar Tree only had a few colors of hooks, and they were kind of difficult to clip shut but you get what you pay for!

I clipped the hooks to the baskets and onto the rod. The bag is D’s foam letters / numbers in a lingerie bag just hooked onto a shower curtain hook. Here’s my after…

So that’s it! It’s something that’s been floating around Pinterest for a while – and I did it! 🙂

  1. I so wish we could do this in our tub…the walls/corners are rounded so I couldn't get the rod to stay up. Let me know if you have any other tub toy tricks up your sleeve. 😉
