Meal Planning Monday – Garlic Knots

I LOVE BREAD. AND BUTTER.

So put them together and it is a match made in Heaven. Almost as good as peanut butter and chocolate. Ok, maybe they’re on the same level. One for sweet and one for savory.

Anyway.

One night we had pasta for dinner and I really wanted garlic bread. I am awful at making garlic bread. Just terrible. I can never get the baking temperature and times right and I can never seen to get the ratio of garlic / butter correct. Or do you use melted butter? Or room temperature butter? SO MANY QUESTIONS.

I think it was a grocery store day so I grabbed a tube of pizza dough and thus, these were born. Deliciously born.

Ingredients:
*1 tube of pizza dough (and a hubby to open them for you. Because it’s terrifying)
*1/2 stick of butter (1/4 cup)
*1 tablespoon garlic powder
*1/2 tablespoon salt
*1/2 tablespoon dried basil
*Grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat the oven to 375 (the temperature on the pizza dough directions)

Lay out the pizza dough on a cutting board.

With a pizza cutter, cut the pizza dough down the middle, in half.

Make cuts going longways to divide it into pieces (mine usually ends up with 16 strips).

Take each strip and tie it into a knot. Again, this is one of my favorite recipes because you do not have to be exact and it does not have to be beautiful.

Melt the butter and add the salt, garlic powder and basil.

Brush the butter mixture over the knots. If you have extra, that’s totally fine. It is super yummy when you add more in the end. Because, butter.

Top with cheese and bake 10-15 minutes.

As soon as you take them out, brush with extra butter.

You know what? Even D likes these. WHHHAAATT?!
