I am feeling like a broken record, but this is something I saw on Pinterest – haha – that I have been wanting to try for a while. Candles are not a great idea in my house because D either asks constant questions about them, stares at them with a pyromaniac smile or actually touches them. I’m not playing that game. Especially since when I actually did this activity, I was super pregnant, therefore had about a 10 second reaction time.
After searching Pinterest I decided to try out my own recipe. I wasn’t sure how much the scents were going to come through but man they did! It smelled SO GOOD in my house.
Here is all it is:
*The peels of 3 oranges
*1 teaspoon vanilla extract
*2 cinnamon sticks
That’s it! You all know how easy I try to make things. And this is easy. Just cover everything with water in a medium sauce pot and keep it on low on the stove for the day. Don’t forget about it – and keep adding water when the water level goes down. At the end of the day, I covered the pot with its lid and popped it in the fridge for the night. It lasted about 3 days until it started to look kind of yucky.
I bought some apple pie spice to do another one with that and apples and cinnamon. I’m so excited 🙂
Happy smelling!
