Easy after school snacks - crackers with peanut butter and strawberries

Full day kindergarten was a game changer for us. My oldest needed it so badly and so did I. We needed to get away from each other and he needed to be soaking up new information and getting to know new people. It was great sending him on the bus for the day!

However, my only complaint about it is that he would get home and be starving. He ate lunch at 11:30 and didn’t get off the bus until 3:30. When he’s at home, he gets another snack around 1:00, so this was all new to us. I was needing to have a big snack for him ready to go as soon as he got off the bus.

We use this rolling cart pictured below for snacks. I keep it stocked so when he is hungry, he can hop over and just grab what he needs because most of the time when he gets home, I’m busy with the twins.

What are good after school snacks?

We like to choose anything the kids can grab themselves because I’m usually busy with work or little siblings when my oldest gets off the bus. You want to pick things that will fill them up and things that are not filled with empty calories! So, high in fiber and protein.
