I saw this video floating around Facebook and posted it to my recipe page. I kept wanting to make it because I kept seeing it pop up everywhere. So I finally did it. You can go to the original but there’s a video and ads and stuff, so I am breaking it down for you here. (Mine is a little bit different also. Same ingredients.)
I love apples! In the fall, summer, winter, spring…all seasons. So anything with apples is right up my alley. I also love cinnamon rolls. They always remind me of Christmas morning. It’s our Christmas morning tradition. We would wake up my mom and then go into the kitchen and start the coffee and cinnamon rolls. So on the rare occasion that I buy them, I always think of Christmas morning when I smell them cooking. Yum!
Ingredients
*2 tubes of cinnamon rolls (I used one off brand and one name brand. Because that’s how I roll. HAHAHAHA)
*4 eggs
*1/2 cup of milk
*1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
*1 teaspoon vanilla
*2 tablespoons butter
*2 chopped granny smith apples
*1 cup brown sugar
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375.
Spray a 9×9 baking dish with non stick cooking spray.
Take each cinnamon roll and cut it into 8 pieces. Put the icing to the side. (Not back in the fridge).
Drop each piece into the sprayed baking dish.
In a medium pan, heat the butter and add the brown sugar. Add the chopped apples and cook until the brown sugar is caramelized – about 10 minutes.
While that is cooking, mix together (in a bowl) eggs, cinnamon, vanilla and milk until blended. Pour over the cinnamon rolls. Pour apples on top.
I’m not going to lie to you, I tried to take lots of pictures from lots of angles of this before it went into the oven, but if we’re being real – it did not look appetizing. But it gets better. Trust me.
Drizzle icing over the apples. Bake for 25-30 minutes – until cinnamon rolls are brown.
Let cool before removing from pan.
I added caramel sauce to it.
PS, how awesome is my new background?! I am obsessed with it. Slowly transitioning all of my Etsy listings to pictures with this beautiful new background.
THIS IS SO GOOD. Dylan and I devoured it after I took a picture. I got the apples, he got the cinnamon rolls 😛
